In-Depth Review of
BiCupid

BiCupid has been connecting bisexual singles and couples with other bisexual singles since 2003. Having grown to nearly 4.5 million members, the site claims to be the “World’s Largest and Most Effective Dating Sites for Bisexuals, Hookups, Threesomes & Swingers.” However, they also welcome gay, lesbian, BDSM singles, threesomes, the LGBT community, as well as couples. For the most part, these members are looking to chat, hook up, explore their sexuality, and much more. Intimate relationships and lovers are also commonplace on BiCupid.

If you’re looking for a free bisexual dating site, BiCupid probably isn’t right for you. While you can still sign up, send winks, upload photos, and search for other users by location with the standard membership, that’s pretty much where your privileges end. If you want to browse anonymously, view complete profiles, use the advanced search feature, and receive/send messages, you’ll have to purchase a monthly membership plan. That can run you anywhere from $33.99 for one month or $18.33/month for six months.

What’s nice about BiCupid is that you can see who paid or didn’t pay for the premium plan because each profile will have a badge indicating which membership they have. This way, you can avoid sending messages to people who can’t message you back without the premium plan. If you don’t want your plan to auto-renewal, you can cancel the function from your Apple or Android app store, or cancel through the desktop website if signed up through the computer.

Signing Up for BiCupid

BiCupid’s sign-up process is a little more complex than popular gay/bisexual dating sites out there. That being said, it still doesn’t take any more than 5 to 10 minutes. First, you create your profile by providing the following details: Identity, interest, age, email address, phone number, username & password, location, height, ethnicity, and relationship status. Then, of course, you need to agree to BiCupid’s terms and privacy policy.

Next, BiCupid makes it easy to upload a photo because you can do it through Facebook or your photo library. You’ll have to wait for a short time while your photo gets approval from the site’s moderators. Don’t be alarmed if you need to wait a couple of hours. This is normal and ensures fewer fake profiles make it through.

Lastly, you will fill out the “About You and Your Match” section. Don’t worry too much about the information you put here, you can always come back to it later for revision. You’ll have to provide a headline, a description of yourself, and how you envision your perfect match.

Since BiCupid is big on security, make sure you double-check your contact details and provide a photo that is clear and frontal. After that, you can verify your account through an email they’ll send you. Make sure you key in the code they send you within 10 minutes of receiving it. Then you’re ready to go.

Member Structure

With 1 million members and 230,000 monthly visitors from around the world, BiCupid can definitely be considered the largest bisexual dating site. Because a much larger percentage of men are on the site, the majority of the site’s members are aged 25 and over, the most sexually active age range.

Even with a large population of men, BiCupid attracts all kinds of members that are looking for sexual experiences or companionships. We found that it’s split between members looking for something fun and others looking for something serious. In that sense, BiCupid does a great job at providing a platform that caterers to all.

Singles aren’t the only ones that get to match up with other bisexual singles. Couples are also very much welcomed on BiCupid. There are lots of couples, both married and unmarried, looking to spice up their relationship on the platform.

BiCupid takes inclusivity seriously by welcoming everyone in the LGBT community. It’s a place where the rainbow community can find whatever type of desirable connection.

Matching Process

BiCupid’s Spark feature is the closest thing you’ll get to a matching process. Even though you have to provide a good amount of info on your profile, they don’t really use that data to match you with like-minded individuals. Instead, the Spark feature is similar to Tinder, where you essentially swipe left or right on different profiles depending if you’re interested or not.

The reason you fill out all that information on your profile is that it’s used to filter searches when browsing for other users. For instance, you can search for males, females, or couples by age, ethnicity, and much more. This helps you narrow down your type so you only see the other members with your criteria.

Whether you’re using the Spark or browse feature, you can add people to your favorites list. This way, you won’t have to remember which profiles caught your eye. Also, you can worry about messaging or sending winks to people after you’re done seeing who’s out there.

Contact Options

As mentioned, your contact options are to message someone, send them a wink, or add them to your favorites list. Those three options will be located at the bottom of the primary profile photo. To message other users, you’ll have to pay for the premium service plan. That’s really the only way you’ll get the most out of BiCupid and meet up with other singles or couples. However, standard members can respond to messages sent by premium members.

If you want to land a hookup or date, you’ll want to pay for BiCupid. Otherwise, you’re more of a lurker than an interactive member. It’s also just a more enjoyable experience and easier to network with a premium account.

BiCupid App

After reviewing both the desk version and the app, we concluded the latter is more user-friendly, sleek, and modern. Available in the Apple and Android app stores, the BiCupid app offers all the same features as the website. Even better, you can use it on the go to chat and meet with other users.

Conclusion

Overall, there’s a lot to like about BiCupid and little to dislike, and that’s what you want out of a dating app. Even reading other reviews, it’s difficult to find many people that have had a bad experience with the site/app. The only thing you can really complain about is the price and lack of a freemium plan. But that’s also what makes BiCupid a great bisexual dating site. They charge their members so that they can put more money into their product. It seems like that strategy is working for them!
